File Overview Agent

Upload a file and get a short, plain-language overview of what it's about.

Agent

Got a file you need to make sense of quickly? The File Overview Agent reads your uploaded document and hands back a clear, plain-language summary of what it contains — no skimming, no guesswork.

Upload a PDF, report, contract, article, spreadsheet, or any other document, and you'll get a one-sentence summary, a short description of the content and purpose, and a bullet list of the key topics or sections inside. Exactly what you need to know, nothing you don't.

It's built for anyone who regularly deals with unfamiliar documents — whether you're reviewing a file before a meeting, triaging a stack of reports, or just trying to figure out if a document is worth reading in full.

How to use it

Using the File Overview Agent takes about ten seconds:

  1. Upload your file — click the upload field and select the document you want summarised. PDFs, text files, Word documents, spreadsheets, and similar formats all work.
  2. Submit — hit the button to send your file for analysis.
  3. Read your overview — you'll receive a one-sentence summary, a short paragraph describing the document's content and purpose, and a bullet list of the 3–6 key topics or sections found inside.

That's it. No account needed, no configuration, no waiting around.

FAQ

What file types can I upload? The tool works with common document formats including PDFs, plain text files, Word documents, and spreadsheets. If your file is in an unsupported format or can't be read, the tool will tell you plainly rather than guessing.

How long does the overview take? Most files are processed in a matter of seconds. Larger or more complex documents may take a little longer, but you won't be waiting long.

Will the overview include specific details from my file? Yes. The summary references actual content from your document — titles, headings, names, figures — so you can be confident it was read, not generated generically.

What if my file is empty or unreadable? The tool will say so directly and stop there. It won't pad the response with invented detail or guesswork.

Is this a replacement for reading the full document? It's a fast first pass, not a substitute for a thorough read when one is needed. Use it to understand what a document is about, decide if it's relevant, and know where to focus your attention.

Ways to use it

Triage a stack of documents before a meeting. If you've been sent several reports or briefings and only have time to read what matters, upload each one and use the overview to decide which deserves your full attention — and which you can set aside.

Quickly understand an unfamiliar contract or agreement. Before diving into the legal language, get a plain-language summary of what the document covers and which sections are inside. You'll know exactly where to look for the clauses that matter to you.

Onboard to a new project faster. Inherited a folder of documentation from a previous team or client? Run each file through the tool to build a quick map of what exists and what each document covers, without spending hours reading everything from scratch.
